Volunteer Requirements
We have an open door policy. If you are a parent with a child currently enrolled at Bright Start, you can visit the school and your child's class at any time. No parents will be allow unsupervised access to any children but their own.
These requirements are for parents who:
- want to help in the classroom on a regular basis
- want to assist with fieldtrips
- or will be in the school without a chaperone during the school day.
All volunteers at Bright Start Preschool and Childcare need to have the following BEFORE volunteering in the classroom.
- Be listed with the Criminal History Registery
- To fill out the paperwork, visit https://ssl7.emp.state.or.us/ccd/. The cost is $3 for 2 years. Please be sure to include Bright Start Care's name and mailing address so we will receive a copy.
- Fill out the volunteer agreement
Potential Staff Member Requirements
All Potential Staff Members must complete the steps above PLUS these additional steps before employment will be considered.
Food Handler's Card
Getting a Food Handler's card from your computer is quick and easy. Visit http://www.foodhandler.org/ to begin the process. It costs $10.
CPR/First Aid and Abuse/Neglect
TVFR offers what they call Super Saturday classes. If the you can not get in for one of these Super Saturday sets, please let the director know and we will point you toweard alternative classes.
The dates for the next couple sets are: July 25, 2009, August 29th, 2009 and September 26, 2009
- Infant and Adult CPR and First Aid Training (9am - 11am) Fee: $10
- Abuse and Neglect Training (11:45 - 5:45pm) Fee $35
