Who are our teachers and how qualified are they?

Co-Owner and Infant Teacher, Gwen Ashford, is a wonderful asset to our team. She raised 2 kids of her own and has a love for children that only a grandmother could give. She joined Tessa Gripp, the owner and founder of Bright Start Care this year and is now a partner in the company. Without Gwen we never would have been able to get this AWESOME new location.

Our Early Preschool Teacher is Mely Vidad. She has been with us for over a year, and we feel like she is family. She came to us from another day care center locally and we feel so fortunate to have her. She has years of experience with children under 4 and currently teaches the 2 - 3 year old class for us.

Our Preschool Head Teacher and Director is Tessa Gripp. Many years of early childhood classes and directorship classes help her to provide the best possible environments and educational curriculum for the children at Bright Start Care. Her actual degree is in Web Design, though she will be completing a full degree in Early Elementary/Early Chidhood shortly.

Licensing and Certifications

Bright Start Care is licensed by the State of Oregon as a Certified In-Home Child Care Provider - and is licensed to care for no more than sixteen (16) children at any one time . We are inspected regularly to insure health and safety standards. All care providers have their food handler cards, are First Aid and Infant CPR Certified and are registered with the Criminal History Registry.

By June of 2008 we hope to have all our permits completed to turn Bright Start Care into a full daycare center. This would allow us to double in size and accomodate 32 children. Our teacher ratios would still stay small - and don't worry - there is plenty of room in this spacious location.

I prefer to keep the enrollment under our licensed capacity, so spaces are limited and fill quickly.
